Use OpenClaw for calendar, docs, voice, and briefings
Once your bot is set up and connected to Google (and optionally other services), you can use it for calendar management, editing documents, voice notes, daily briefings, and weekly reports. A recurring theme: you can often just ask your bot how to do something—e.g. "Set up Edge TTS" or "Give me my daily briefing"—and it will guide you or do it.
Manage your calendar
Your bot has its own Gmail and Google Calendar. You share your personal calendar with the bot's Gmail (view-only). The bot can then send you calendar invites—you appear as an attendee and accept or decline. This is safer than giving the bot full edit access to your main calendar.
Setup: In Google Calendar, share your calendar with the bot's email and give it "See all event details" (view only). Your bot needs to be connected to Google Workspace to send invites.
Example: In chat you might say: "Look up Caltrain schedules this morning around 10:00." The bot can browse the web, find times (e.g. 9:44, 10:14, 10:44), then you say: "Send me a calendar invite for 10:14 AM Caltrain to the city, 3 hours, call it family trip to the Ferry Building." The bot creates the event and adds you as an attendee. Scheduling on the go becomes as simple as texting your assistant.
Edit Google Docs and Sheets
Create a Google Doc or Sheet, share it with your bot's email with edit access. Then ask the bot to add or change content. It can recognize the doc by name and write into it—trip plans, lunch options, outlines—without you copying and pasting from another AI into the doc.
Docs: e.g. "Put a plan for our trip in the doc 'Peter-Zoe': Caltrain, Ferry Building visit, and lunch after." The bot can look up options and fill the doc. Sheets: e.g. "Add the title 'Master OpenClaw in 20 minutes – five use cases' next to row 24 in my content calendar." The bot can edit the right cell. Updating a content schedule or doc by texting your assistant is a big timesaver.
Talk using voice (TTS)
TTS means text-to-speech: the bot turns its replies into spoken audio. You can get voice notes (e.g. greetings, summaries, jokes) and even chat back and forth using voice—you speak via Whisper, it replies with voice notes.
Ask your bot: "What are some voice options?" or "Set up TTS." Options include free ones (e.g. Edge TTS—Microsoft's voices, many to choose from) and paid (e.g. ElevenLabs). To use Edge TTS, you can say "Set up Edge TTS" or "Tell me more about Edge TTS options" and follow the bot's instructions. To verify: "Send me a voice note with a funny dad joke" (and specify you want it as voice, not text). Once configured, you can request summaries, greetings, or conversations in voice.
Daily briefings
The bot can send you a daily briefing using scheduled tasks (cron-style). It pulls together weather, upcoming calendar events, trending discussions (e.g. AI topics you care about), and a personal thought based on its memory and your public tweets. You can link your calendar, a content schedule sheet, and read-only Twitter so the briefing is tailored to you.
Ask in chat: "Give me my daily briefing." You can add "avoid sharing super sensitive info" if you're recording or sharing the chat. You can also ask the bot to use past days' memory in the briefing to surface patterns or remind you of your focus. Set up the cron/schedule by asking the bot (e.g. "Set up a daily briefing").
Weekly insight reports
You can have the bot email you a weekly report—e.g. stats from your latest YouTube videos and Substack posts, plus content ideas from similar channels. For YouTube, it can use a free tool like yt-dlp to pull public video data for you and comparable creators. For Substack there is no public API; one approach is to add the bot as an admin to your Substack so it can use the browser to open the stats page and gather the numbers. The bot compiles everything into an email. If this sounds useful, ask your bot how to set up a weekly creator briefing or similar.
To connect calendar and docs: Connect OpenClaw to Google Workspace. To shape how the bot remembers you and speaks: Make OpenClaw personal (memory and personality).
